Award Winning Battle Scars

Battle Scars, a survivor-led charity providing specialist peer support to people affected by self-harm, has won the Empowerment and Voice Award at the Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Awards on 23 March 2026.

The award recognises the charity’s commitment to lived experience-led support, creating non-judgemental spaces where people feel understood and accepted, alongside extensive outreach and education to challenge the stigma around self-harm.

“We are honoured to receive the award and for our work to be recognised,” said Jenny Groves, Founder and CEO of Battle Scars. “We hope it encourages people who self-harm to reach out for support, because they’re not alone.”

Based in South Leeds, Battle Scars offers support across the UK through face-to-face groups, virtual sessions, one-to-one phone support, a moderated online group and self-help resources.

Battle Scars is grateful to have been selected as the winners and remains committed to ensuring people affected by self-harm are heard, respected and supported.
