AI is changing the workplace in more ways than many employers expected.
One of the fastest-growing challenges we’re seeing is the rise of AI-generated grievances, complaints and workplace correspondence. Employees now have instant access to tools capable of producing lengthy, detailed and what they deem professionally written allegations in a matter of minutes.
For employers and managers, this creates a new set of risks. Even where it appears obvious that correspondence has been generated using AI, employers cannot dismiss concerns on that basis alone.
As AI becomes more embedded in the workplace, business leaders need to be prepared for the increased administrative burden, the potential for more complex grievances, and the risks that can arise when managers respond incorrectly.

Rather than looking at risk in isolation, our panel will explore how different forms of risk interact with one another and what practical steps business owners can take to strengthen resilience before problems arise.
PRS Foundation Opens PPL Momentum Music Grants for UK Artists
Funding is available to support the development of talented UK musicians and bands, helping them to enhance and sustain their careers.
The PPL Momentum Music Fund is a financial resource designed to support artists working in a broad range of contemporary popular genres, including the innovative and emerging.
Grants can be used to assist with any activity that significantly contributes to the development of an artist or band. Applicants should consider why and how this activity will contribute to their career development and/or business plan. This may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:
•Recording – new album, EP, single, producer, engineer, mixer fees, studio hire, session musician fees, etc or a combination of these elements.
•Touring (UK only) – travel, accommodation, musician fees, set/production design, tour management, equipment hire, etc.
•Marketing and promotions – PR, radio plugger, digital marketing, music videos, merchandise production, etc.
The fund is open to applications from artists and bands in the UK that are at a crucial point in their development, with the potential to significantly further their career within the next two years.
Applications can be submitted by the artists themselves or those who are working on their behalf, eg a manager, an independent label or publisher.
Grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 are available, with the average PPL Momentum Music grant being approximately £10,000.

Innovation Challenge Opens With Cash Awards for UK Innovators
TBAT has opened applications for its 2026 Innovation Challenge, a UK-wide competition designed to support innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and early-stage ventures.
The Innovation Challenge includes free-to-attend workshops delivered in partnership with a network of organisations. The sessions are intended to provide information and guidance to participating businesses, including those developing technology-based products or services across different sectors.
Following the workshops, participating businesses can apply to enter a competition. The finalists will be selected to deliver live pitches at a Finalist Showcase.
A prize and support package will be shared between the top three finalists, with each package tailored to the needs of the business. The overall winner will receive a £50,000 cash prize to invest in research and development. Two runners-up will each receive £5,000 in cash aimed at assisting with business expenses.
The Innovation Challenge also includes a Rising Star Award. The winner of this award will receive £1,000 in cash, alongside support packages provided through the partner network, to help with business expenses.
Eligibility is open to UK businesses that are three years old or younger, individuals intending to launch a business in the UK and UK businesses older than three years that are engaged in research and development or planning to introduce new technology. Applicants are expected to offer a technology-based product or service and demonstrate innovation.

LNER Invites Applications for Customer and Community Investment Fund
London North Eastern Railway is offering grants of up to £10,000 for charities, community groups, and other not-for-profit organisations to deliver small-to-medium-sized projects that deliver a positive impact for communities within 15 miles of the East Coast mainline route.
The Customer and Community Investment Fund will support projects that address one or more of the following priorities:
Better for People
Fostering a culture of equality that champions diversity and inclusivity.
Creating a culture of positive mental health, bringing people and communities together.
Better for Places
Creating skilled and inclusive communities along our networks that can thrive.
Better for Planet
Conserve resources, reduce waste, and reuse where possible.
Preference will be given to small-to-medium-sized charities with an annual income of less than £1 million per annum.

Digital Catapult Opens UK Digital Twin Adoption Accelerator
Digital Catapult has opened applications for its Digital Twin Adoption Accelerator Programme 2026, a nine-month initiative designed to support partnerships developing proof-of-concept digital twin solutions.
The Accelerator provides up to £100,000 in Innovate UK grant funding per successful project, alongside technical expertise, mentoring and access to specialist facilities. Support is intended to help partnerships develop and refine functional proof-of-concept solutions that address real-world adoption challenges, demonstrate feasibility and business benefits, increase technology readiness and support future deployment.
The call is open to pre-formed partnerships made up of a UK technology SME and an industry organisation seeking to adopt digital twin technologies. Either partner may act as the lead applicant.
The SME must work in at least one of six enabling technology areas underpinning digital twins:
•Cyber-physical systems
•Data services
•Security and trustworthiness
•Immersive technologies and user experience
•Intelligence
•Integration and interoperability
Industry adopters must operate in one of the eligible sectors: automotive, agri-tech, maritime, aerospace including space, defence, clean energy, creative industries or life sciences. Proposed projects should focus on adoption challenges within these sectors and include plans to test and validate solutions in real-world environments.
The Accelerator will support up to nine partnerships. In addition to the grant, participants will receive one-to-one mentoring throughout the nine months, support from Digital Catapult’s innovation and technology teams and input from UK Digital Twin Centre industry partners. Collaborations are also expected to establish pathways for scalability and adoption beyond the proof-of-concept stage.
