Collaborative Communities Fund
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects or organisations aimed at supporting other local groups and organisations with their development running from October 2026 to March 2027.
The fund is focused on Dewsbury and Mirfield, and Kirklees Rural Areas (including Colne Valley West, Holme Valley North, Holme Valley South, Kirkburton and Denby Dale)
Applications must be submitted by 20 August 2026. Organisations must have a conversation with Raj before submitting an Expression of Interest. Please contact Raj through raj@tslkirklees.org.uk
The main purpose of the fund is capacity building, not direct service delivery. Successful projects should help local VCSE organisations become stronger and more sustainable.

Be Moor Aware – Moorland Fire Safety
Kirklees Rural NPT issued fines to 3 people for lighting a fire earlier this month at Digley Reservoir, in breach of the PSPO (Public Space Protection Order).
Along with partners, we want people to #BeMoorAware of the impacts that moorland wildfire has on our communities and how we can help to prevent future wildfires across West Yorkshire.

Water Safety Advice – Water Safety | West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service
WYFRS continues to urge the public to keep safe around water by following key advice:
- Avoid swimming in open water such as reservoirs, rivers and canals.
- Water can be much colder than it looks, even in warm weather.
- Hidden hazards beneath the surface can cause serious injury.
- Alcohol and water are a dangerous combination.
- If you see someone in trouble, call 999 and ask for the fire service. Tell them to float on their back and throw them rescue equipment. Do not enter the water yourself.
