Fresh Futures has secured funding from National Lottery Awards for All to deliver its Elevate programme in North Kirklees, providing vital support to young people experiencing loneliness and isolation.

Elevate is designed to create a safe and supportive space where young people can access tailored activities and one-to-one support, helping them to overcome isolation and strengthen their confidence. The programme will also connect participants with their local community, enabling them to build meaningful relationships and feel more engaged in their lives.

The initiative comes at a time when increasing numbers of young people report feelings of loneliness, highlighting the need for accessible, community-based support services. Through this new funding, Fresh Futures aims to make a measurable difference by reducing isolation and helping young people to feel more positive about their future.

Catherine McKenzie, Head of Children and Family Services at Fresh Futures, said:

“We are thrilled to receive funding from Awards for All to bring the Elevate programme to North Kirklees. Too many young people are experiencing loneliness and isolation, which can have a significant impact on their wellbeing and future opportunities. Elevate is about creating connections, building confidence, and helping young people to see a more positive path ahead. We’re really excited to get started and to work alongside young people to make a lasting difference.”

Delivered from Jo Cox House, the programme will work closely with local partners, referral agencies, and community organisations to ensure young people receive holistic support tailored to their needs.

Fresh Futures has a strong track record of supporting children, young people and families, and the expansion of Elevate into North Kirklees is a significant step in reaching more young people who need support to feel connected, valued, and hopeful.
