The scarecrows are back in 2025 — and they’re going to be even more wild and wonderful than ever!
The much-loved Denby Dale District Lions Annual Scarecrow Trail returns this summer with the 2025 theme: Animal Adventures.
Expect lions, tigers, bears (and more than a few surprises!) as the local community brings this creative tradition to life once again.
Now a regular fixture on the village calendar, the Scarecrow Trail has grown into one of the Lions’ main fundraising events of the year. Each trail sees residents, schools, businesses, and community groups crafting clever and colourful scarecrows to display outside homes and premises across Denby Dale and surrounding villages.
From jungle creatures and farmyard favourites to cheeky cartoon critters and animal-inspired puns, this year’s entries promise to be as imaginative as ever.

📍Location: The White Hart Pub, Denby Dale – this is the main hub and where you can get your maps.
📅Dates: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July

While the trail is a fun and affordable day out for all ages, it’s also a vital fundraiser. All proceeds go to the Lions’ chosen charities and community projects, helping to support everything from food banks and school initiatives to emergency aid and local wellbeing services.
