Bingo is returning to Work Rest or Play Community advertiser Theatre Royal Wakefield for a special night as the venue celebrates 40 years since reopening as a theatre. On Tuesday 6 October at 6.30pm this historic Wakefield venue is turning back the clock and reviving its bingo hall past.

Expect unexpected prizes, friendly chaos and plenty of moments that don’t quite go to plan, all in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone can join in.
As well as providing a fun night out, every ticket sold to this annual event helps support Theatre Royal Wakefield’s work across the community. From youth theatre training and family activities to wellbeing workshops and creative programmes for local people, the venue welcomes all local communities.
Speaking about the event, Director of Patron Experience, Sarah Shooter said:
“Many local people have fond memories of the building’s bingo hall days, and we’re delighted to bring that chapter of our history back to life as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations. Whether you’re a regular bingo player or trying it for the first time, this evening is all about coming together, having a laugh and supporting your local theatre.”
With limited places available, local people are encouraged to book early and be part of this unique celebration of one of Wakefield’s most memorable entertainment venues. Tickets and further information are available via the Theatre’s website.
