Upper Cumberworth

Upper Cumberworth is about twice the size of neighbouring Lower Cumberworth and is home to St Nicholas’ Church and Cumberworth Church of England First School, a very highly regarded and popular primary school.

Upper Cumberworth also has a very busy Post Office and village store at the main crossroads, opposite which is The Star public house.

Next to the Post Office is a small village garden with picnic table, often used by walkers.

Just like it’s smaller neighbour Lower Cumberworth, Upper Cumberworth is surrounded by farm land and has Upper Dearne Woodlands, a very popular and beautiful place for a stroll. It always looks stunning in May when the bluebells are flowering.

Upper Cumberworth also has a quarry and Household Waste and Recycling Centre (usually known as the tip!).
