Golfers, local businesses and animal lovers are being invited to come together for a fantastic day on the fairway – all while helping local animals in need.
The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch is hosting its very first Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 14th April 2027 at Halifax Golf Club in Ovenden, and everyone is welcome to get involved.
Set against the beautiful moorland backdrop of the course, the day promises plenty of friendly competition, good food, prizes and, most importantly, the chance for the community to come together and support a local cause.
Organised with the support of Your Golf Day, the event will raise vital funds for the next stage of the RSPCA Branch’s Really Big ReFURb appeal at Wade Street Animal Centre in Halifax.
Over the past 12 months, the animal centre has undergone a major transformation starting with Phase 1 which included their kennels and small animal’s unit. Now, the charity is looking ahead to Phase 2 that will refurbish the much-loved cattery and creating better facilities for all the animals who come into its care.
As an independent local RSPCA Branch, RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford relies on the support of its community to continue caring for hundreds of animals each year. They receive no donations from the National RSPCA or government funding.
Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or simply enjoy a good day out with friends, players of all abilities are encouraged to take part. For £145 + VAT per pair, golfers will receive a welcome drink and breakfast butty on arrival, 18 holes of golf, a delicious post-match meal and the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
There are also opportunities for local businesses to get involved. Businesses can sponsor a tee for £50 + VAT, giving the chance to have their branding displayed on a dedicated tee, leaflets in player goody bags and receive social promotion.
Whether you’re teeing off, sponsoring a hole or simply cheering the event on, every bit of support will help make a difference to animals across Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford.
