There’s plenty to look forward to in Wakefield this summer as Wakefield Music Collective returns with a fantastic programme of free live music and community events at Clarence Park Bandstand.
A grassroots, volunteer-led organisation, Wakefield Music Collective has been championing live music and supporting local artists since 1991. Entirely run by volunteers and funded through grants, sponsorships, vendor fees and donations, the collective has spent more than three decades creating opportunities for musicians while bringing high-quality, accessible events to the local community.
The organisation reached a major milestone in November last year when it was awarded charitable status by the Charity Commission. This achievement will help the collective expand its work even further, creating more live music events, mentoring opportunities and community projects across Wakefield.
