Work Rest or Play is continuing its commitment to supporting local communities by encouraging more organisations, clubs, charities and event organisers across West and South Yorkshire to make use of its free community listings and event calendar platform.
The platform helps local groups increase visibility, promote events and fundraisers, share news and community activities and connect with wider local audiences through shared promotional support and social media exposure.
Work Rest or Play works with a wide range of organisations including Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Women’s Institute groups, volunteer organisations, community associations, local charities, sports clubs and festival organisers.
The initiative aims to strengthen community engagement by helping organisations promote their activities while creating more opportunities for collaboration between local groups, volunteers, residents, and businesses.
Participating organisations can:
- Create a free community listing
- Promote events, festivals, and fundraisers on a shared calendar
- Share news, updates and community initiatives
- Increase local awareness through promotional and social media channels
- Connect with volunteers, local businesses, and community organisations
Merewyn Sayers from Work Rest or Play said: “There are so many fantastic groups doing valuable work within our communities, and we want to help give them greater visibility and support. By working together, we can help strengthen local connections, encourage collaboration and make it easier for residents to discover what is happening in their area.”
In return for the free promotional and community support provided, participating organisations are asked to acknowledge Work Rest or Play through event mentions, marketing materials, backlinks on websites, social media mentions and opportunities for collaboration with other local groups and businesses.
Work Rest or Play says the ongoing initiative is focused on building mutually beneficial partnerships that support both community organisations and local engagement across the region.
Community groups and organisations interested in taking part can sign up through the Work Rest or Play website.
