Kirklees Community Governance Review – Stage 2 Consultation Now Open
Kirklees Council has published its draft recommendations for parish boundaries, parish arrangements and local governance.
We’re now inviting views from residents, parish councils, partners and anyone with an interest in local democracy.
This consultation is an important opportunity to help shape how communities are represented at a local level.

Written In Stone
Written in Stone, which will explore and preserve the carved names and inscriptions found across the Colne Valley – from gravestones and war memorials to shopfronts, milestones and plaques.
The project is being developed by Marsden Mechanics for submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and we’re currently consulting with local organisations, schools and groups to ensure it is as inclusive, meaningful and collaborative as possible.

Clear Mental Wellbeing Services
Clear offers welcoming, supportive group sessions focused on mental wellbeing. To improve accessibility, we run sessions seven days a week, including daytime and evening options, making it easier for services to signpost people who may have varied schedules or commitments. People can engage with Clear for up to two years at a time, with a dedicated key‑worker supporting to guide their journey and provide periodic check‑ins.

SEND Next Steps Event
The SEND Next steps Event 2026 is a careers event for young people aged 14-25 with special educational needs and disabilities, and their parents and carers.
Over 20 exhibitors including employers, training providers, advisory services and colleges will be at the event on Wednesday 25 March 2026 at The Holiday Inn, Brighouse, from 12 noon to 5pm, offering advice, guidance, support and opportunities.
There will be a quiet hour for visitors from 12 noon to 1pm.

Health & Wellbeing Celebration Event (5th March)
Proper Job are delighted to invite you all to our Health and Wellbeing Celebration Event – a creative health event in partnership with Wellness Works.
We will be taking over the Byram Arcade (HD1 1ND) on Thursday 5th March between 1pm-4pm for an afternoon of creative health activities, information and celebration!
There will be:
- Creative Health provider information stands
- Tabletop activities
- Live music
- Games and prizes
- Keynote speakers
If you wish to have an information stand to promote your work, would like to run a tabletop activity, or have another idea of how you would like to get involved, do let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
