Join us for performances, dazzling lights, music and a spectacular projection, created by children and young people from across the district. Make your own lantern and join in with the unmissable community lantern parade.

Enjoy pop-up activities, getting crafty with our lantern making workshops, brass band and fire artist performances, plus plenty of festive treats!

Throughout the day’s festivities, you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of tasty food and drink. Our Shop will also be stocked with plenty of Christmas gift ideas and treats for all ages.

Don’t forget that Santa returns to Caphouse for his brand-new experience Santa’s Magic Workshop with lucky visitors.

Saturday 22 November – 10am-7pm (Lantern Parade – 6pm)
10am – Site Opens and Santa sessions begin

Christmas food stalls and Christmas shopping opportunities
Cafe open with festive treats
Glow Up Gallery in the Project Space, The Hub
Living History Performances – Parkinson’s Yard, Mining Lives Gallery at The Hub
Light Up Trail at The Hub
12pm-4.30pm – Makers’ Shed – Free Lantern Making Workshops – Learning Space at The Hub
4pm – Light Up of Pit Yard, headstock and projections
4pm – Lantern pick-up opens
4pm-4.30pm – Brass Band performances at Pit Yard
4.45pm-5.15pm – Brass Band performances at Pit Yard
4pm – Light Up of buildings and animation at Pit Yard
5.30pm – Fire Performers at Pit Yard
6pm – Lantern Parade led by Brass Band from Pit Yard to Hope Pit
6.30pm – Carols by band at Hope Pit
7pm – Site closes
