“One of the 40 best plays of all time” The Independent
At ten years old, Rhona sets off for her grandmother’s house and never arrives. The reason, and the aftermath, unfold through three lives drawn inescapably together: Nancy, the mother living with her daughter’s abduction; Ralph, the predator who planned everything with military precision and is finally caught and jailed; and Agnetha, the American-Icelandic psychologist who travels to England to study him.
Winner of Best New Play at its 1998 premiere, Frozen is a modern classic.. A harrowing, beautifully spare interrogation of the limits of evil, the possibility of forgiveness, and what it costs, this is theatre that stays with you long after the lights come up.
“Big, brave, compassionate play about grief, revenge, forgiveness and bearing the unbearable” The Guardian
“Thrilling, humane, and timely” The Times
