Kirklees Council – Community Plus

Community Plus is a free service supporting individuals and communities across Kirklees to live happier, healthier lives. Our team works alongside residents to build connections, reduce isolation, and strengthen local networks by focusing on what matters most to people.

We use an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which means we start with the strengths, skills, and resources already present in communities. By recognising and building on these assets, we help create sustainable solutions and empower people to lead positive change.

Our work includes:

• Connecting people to local groups, activities, and opportunities
• Supporting community-led initiatives and co-production
• Encouraging capacity building and resilience
• Promoting wellbeing through strong social networks
• Community Plus Fund, we support local people and groups to deliver community-led projects that make a real difference in their neighbourhoods.
