The school holidays arrive, the excitement is high, and then somewhere between the first few days and the first rainy afternoon comes the inevitable:
“I’m bored.”
(Or the more modern version… trying to convince children that there are things to do beyond a screen!)
Since my child started school, I’ve created a little summer holiday tradition — a bingo sheet full of simple ideas, activities and adventures to help keep the holidays interesting and encourage us to make the most of the time together.
Last year, I shared a daily suggestion on Work Rest or Play, and even my very supportive husband decided to join in. Much to his surprise (and mine!), he admitted that he actually really enjoyed it!
The great thing about summer bingo is that it’s not about ticking every box or creating extra pressure. It’s simply about finding inspiration, trying something different and creating memories along the way.
