Pack for Yorkshire Weather
Let’s be honest – we can never quite predict what the weather will do!
If the sun makes an appearance, don’t forget:
- Sun cream
- A hat
- Sunglasses
- Plenty of water
If the forecast looks less promising, pack a lightweight waterproof or umbrella so you’re ready for whatever the weekend brings.
Bring a Picnic… But Take Everything Home
One of the best things about Clarence Park Music Festival is relaxing with family and friends while enjoying great live music.
Feel free to bring your own picnic, snacks and drinks, but please remember to take everything home with you or use the bins provided. Keeping the park clean helps protect this beautiful green space and makes the volunteers’ job much easier once the music has finished.
The simple rule is:
If you bring it with you, please take it home with you.
Remember It’s a Family-Friendly Festival
Clarence Park Music Festival has always been a welcoming event for people of all ages.
Please help keep it that way by:
- Being considerate of those around you.
- Supervising children at all times.
- Respecting the park and its wildlife.
- Looking after your belongings.
- Helping create a safe, friendly atmosphere for everyone.
Bring a Little Spending Money
While entry to the festival is completely FREE, there are plenty of ways you can help support its future.
Why not:
- Buy an official festival programme.
- Pick up some festival merchandise.
- Grab something to eat or drink from the traders.
- Visit the licensed bar if you’re over 18.
- Pop a donation into one of the collection buckets.
Every pound makes a difference.
Every Donation Helps Keep the Music Playing
Many people don’t realise that Clarence Park Music Festival is organised entirely by volunteers.
The festival is funded through grants, sponsorship, fundraising, vendor income and the generosity of people who attend each year. There are no big commercial promoters behind the scenes—just a passionate team of people who give their time because they believe Wakefield deserves amazing live music that’s accessible to everyone.
If you’re able to make a donation, however big or small, you’ll be helping to ensure future generations can continue to enjoy this much-loved community event.
Say Thank You to the Volunteers
Behind every performance is a team of volunteers who spend months planning the festival and many long hours setting up, welcoming visitors, keeping everything running smoothly and packing everything away afterwards.
A smile, a thank you or a kind word goes a long way and means more than you might realise.
Let’s Keep the Tradition Going
For 35 years, Clarence Park Music Festival has brought people together through the power of live music, community spirit and incredible volunteer dedication.
By supporting the festival, respecting the park and contributing where you can, you’re helping ensure it remains Yorkshire’s longest-running free music festival for many years to come.
We’ll see you at the bandstand!
