Huddersfield Town Centre will be joining the global celebration of Make Music Day on Sunday, 21st June, with a full programme of free live music performances taking place across multiple venues throughout the town centre.
Organised by Huddersfield BID in partnership with a mixture of cafés, restaurants, retailers and night-time economy businesses who contribute towards the BID levy investment fund, the event is designed to bring people together through the power of live music while encouraging visitors to explore everything the town centre has to offer.
Make Music Day is the UK’s largest single-day music event and forms part of an international movement that began in France in 1982 as Fête de la Musique. Since then, it has grown into the world’s largest celebration of music, taking place across 125 countries every year on 21st June. The event champions inclusivity, creativity and collaboration, encouraging musicians, promoters, businesses and music lovers to work together within their local communities.
Across Huddersfield town centre, visitors can expect a wide range of performances and musical styles taking place throughout the day in venues ranging from cafés and bars to public spaces and independent businesses. Whether you are discovering a new artist, stopping for a drink while listening to live acoustic music or spending the day venue hopping with friends and family, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
