Huddersfield has become one of the first towns in the UK to benefit from The Beacon – a nationwide initiative helping communities prepare for the rapid changes brought by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Beacon provides residents with monthly online training videos and challenges, designed to demystify AI and show how it can be used at work and at home to make everyday tasks faster, easier, and more effective. All sessions are free of charge.
In Huddersfield, the programme is being exclusively sponsored for the next 12 months by Stafflex, the long-established recruitment specialists with deep roots in the community. Their support means that local people can access the initiative at no cost.

Brian Stahelin, Managing Director of Stafflex, said “Huddersfield has always been about hard work, innovation, and looking after its own. Supporting The Beacon fits perfectly with our values – we’re delighted to give our town the chance to get ahead with the AI skills that are quickly becoming essential for work and life.”
Jon Crocker, founder of The Beacon, added “We’re thrilled to launch in Huddersfield with Stafflex as our sponsor. Their commitment means local people can access practical, monthly AI learning that’s clear, simple and completely free. It’s all about making sure communities like Huddersfield aren’t left behind.”
The initiative highlights both the importance of AI in everyday life and Stafflex’s continued commitment to supporting the local economy and community.
